It means the operator does not touch the gauge between capsules. Once a capsule is seated and correctly contacted, the stand triggers the reading itself. The probes sit in electrolyte every working day. Plated contacts corrode, and a corroded contact adds resistance that reads as a better coating than you actually have. Titanium does not rust in that environment, so the contact resistance stays stable and readings stay comparable month after month. The rest of the stand follows the same logic: plastic, stainless steel and titanium in the wetted path.

Three checks are built into the stand. The aluminum capsule contact sensor confirms the capsule is properly contacted before a reading is taken, which addresses the most common cause of unreliable enamel ratings. The fill level probe confirms the electrolyte is at the correct level, so every capsule is tested against the same volume. And the integrated calibration verification switch lets an operator prove the whole measuring chain at the bench in seconds, without special equipment.

The IS9018 connects to the IS810 EnamelPro™ semi-automatic enamel rating gauge. The gauge supplies and automatically adjusts the test voltage, localizes defects using reverse polarity, and logs each result.
