What does the IS9025 EOE rivet adapter test?
The IS9025 checks the integrity of the lacquer coating on the rivet area of an easy-open end (EOE). Used with the IS810 EnamelPro™ enamel rating gauge, it exposes the rivet zone to the electrolyte so the gauge can detect pores or cracks in the coating that could let the product reach bare metal.
Why is the rivet area of an easy-open end important to test?
The rivet is where the tab is attached and the metal is heavily worked, so the protective lacquer is most likely to be stressed or damaged there. Testing the rivet area with the IS9025 confirms the coating still protects the metal at this critical point.
Which gauge does the IS9025 work with?
The IS9025 is used with the IS810 EnamelPro™ Enamel Rating Gauge. It uses magnetic top plates to hold the end in place during the test.
